It detects formaldehyde specifically, as well as VOCs in general. Being a humid country, this is a useful meter for the workshop and the home alike, Many less ventilated bedrooms, for instance, will start rapidly giving off VOCs at about 52% humidity. Bearing in mind the average low humidity is about 70% in England, opening a window tends to make the problem much worse, spiking to maybe 6 times the threshold for health concerns. Works off the clunky Tuya app, but at least lots of other smart devices already use this so in my case it’s convenient.
