Impossible to get your fingers in and the screws are too short. Used two of my own longer screws in the end.
Other than that, it’s very well made, and worked wonderfully when I split around a hundred logs yesterday.

Having to disassemble the wheels to use the stand is a pain. A quick release design would be very useful.

I have not been disappointed. This is a solid, well-finished and well-built piece of equipment. I deliberated for days whether to get the FM5 (shorter bed) or FM8, cost being the only issue. Reviews, and the FM video, persuaded me to get the Duocut Blade and, not wanting to limit log length, I decided on the more expensive FM8. Don’t underestimate how heavy this set up is. I have no regrets getting the stand (FM8T-TC) too. Excellent next day delivery. Clear instructions to assemble – as recommended, just prop the splitter vertically against a wall. The Duocut Blade requires a bit of leverage and muscle to position the bolts correctly. Once assembled, the entire set is very stable. Splits logs beautifully! I am delighted with this purchase.
