Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry! The Forest Master FM4DDE Compact Electric Wood Chipper is powered by a 4 HP (2800-watt) motor. Given that it operates on standard household electricity (230-240V), you can estimate the current draw with the following calculation:

Current (Amps) = Power (Watts) / Voltage (Volts)

For our chipper:

Current = 2800W / 230V ≈ 12.17A

This means the wood chipper draws approximately 12.17 amps during normal use.

As this is close to the limit for standard UK 13-amp plugs, we include a 10-amp circuit trip to as well as a slow blow fuse to prevent any issues with blowing fuses when the machine starts up.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

This resulted in a back up into the feed. When chipping withe right consistency of wood for draw through, worked fine but had to be done slowly. Unblocking took a lot of time due to having to un bolt the feed & outlet each time, lost a split washer in the saw dust the first time as so small Feed could easily be improved by a snap clip, rather than bolt, which be easier to open/close but would need to be properly closed before the cutting mechanism work (as with the bolt)
Fell short of my expectations for £529 & regret not going for a bigger model like my previous Hyundai

Using a 2.5mm cable I’ve had no issues at all. It does an amazing job and chipping small branches. The wood has to be VERY green to attempt close to 50mm (this is mentioned on the instructions). Even then, feed it in gently.

Wish I’d bought one sooner. Fantastic.
