Just get one – it is SO much quicker and easier. Delivery was amazing – delivered next day to the West of Scotland and up and running on the stand within an hour. I used the videos on YouTube to show how to put it together as I found that easier than the manual. Very happy with purchase and would recommend Forest Master to anyone.

Machine is well built and powerful. It makes log splitting fun. The stand is a little low as I have to slightly stoop to hold the motor button (and I’m 5’7”!) a balance with having it too high to lift logs onto I guess. The manual included is out of date and could be improved as per website. The cable is short so most people will use an extension lead but the website requires a 2.5mm 3 core cable which is hard to come by for most. Perhaps FM could provide one as an accessory. A reminder device to ensure the air bleed screw is opened for use would be a nice safety feature.

I have been splitting wood the old-fashioned way for years with sledgehammer, wedge and axe, but after borrowing one of these for a session I realised how good they are and ordered my own the very next day.
The trolley stand is definitely worth it to reduce back pain, and although the work table is not necessary, I have fixed it on (without safety cage) to speed things up a bit.
The two overwhelming advantages to this machine are firstly: saving wear and tear on ageing joints and muscles, and secondly: speed. What normally takes me 5 hard sessions to store the winter firewood took an easy 2 sessions (and by the way was also quite fun).
Highly recommend.

Assembly was straightforward and I was splitting logs within a couple of hours, including coffee breaks.
Simple to operate, but be sure to read the instructions first (and note slackening the bleed valve before switching on, also it’s important to push the button to start the motor first before operating the hydraulic lever)
Works as hoped and handled a variety of logs without any issues.
I would strongly recommend this piece of equipment.
