Our FM8VE is a heavy duty electric vertical log splitter capable of splitting logs up to 550mm in length. The FM8VE has been specially designed for the UK market and comes fitted with a 3000-watt electric motor which is the largest that can be used with a standard UK 3-pin plug, anything larger requires 3 phase.

This electric vertical log splitter is capable of easily splitting soft, fresh, green, hard and seasoned woods with ease due to the incredible 8 tons of splitting powers it’s able to produce. This machine is our most competent log splitter at splitting wood over 50cm in length.

4WAY Cross Cutter Blade – Transform your log splitter from a 2-way into a 4-way splitter and double your efficiency. This blade is perfect for creating kindling, it makes it simple and efficient to split larger logs into four manageable pieces for your log burner.

Obtuse Wide Angle Blade –
The Obtuse blade attachment is perfect for larger logs when they’re stringy and gnarly. The wide angle creates a larger split within the log ensuring that they’re split right the way through and into manageable lengths.

The FM8VE can handle logs from 100mm up to 300mm in diameter and offers a log length capacity of 550mm.

When the FM8VE vertical log splitter arrives with you, it’s prefilled with oil and ready to use. The low maintenance required for this log splitter makes it the perfect investment for decades to come, simply replace the hydraulic fluid when needed (it typically receives around 150 hours of use before it needs to be changed) and keep the log splitter well stored.

To start the motor you simply push the green button, to operate the ram the splitter has two levers so that it cannot be operated one-handed, making it compliant with the latest safety regulations, after you have finished push the red button to stop the motor. The full cycle time of the log splitter is 18 seconds.

As well as being incredibly powerful, the log splitter is reasonably quiet. It produces 74.7 dbA when under no load and just 77.8 dbA under a full load. If you want to make a comparison, this is roughly equivalent to a washing machine or dishwasher. The vertical log splitter is also equipped with two transport wheels for easy manoeuvrability.

The FM16TW-TC is also equipped with our trademarked DuoCut^TM blade that increases the efficiency of splitting and makes the log splitter much better at handling knotty wood than single-blade splitters.

Unlike other manufacturers’ safety cages, our guard has solid sides with no openings so that split logs cannot catch in an opening and cause damage. Forest Master FM16PTW 8 ton petrol log splitter is a heavy-duty log splitter and is currently the largest of the Forest Master horizontal log splitters. The FM16PTW was designed for long lasting use. Equipped with a 52cc petrol engine, the machine reaches a total of 8 tons of splitting force with ease.

The FM16PTW is twice as efficient, due to the pre-fitted DuoCut Blade and Ram Stop. The supplied trolley stand allows users to adjust the machine to a suitable working height, also removing the need to lean over or kneel. The added castor wheels also allow easy manoeuvrability.

The FM16PTW’s petrol engine, like other Forest Master petrol log splitters, was designed for relocation without worrying about wires or power nearby.

To meet the latest safety regulations, it has a workbench and safety cage to contain debris and logs as they are split. The safety cage allows you to split logs up to 400mm in diameter, which is larger than other manufacturers cage’s allow. It also has two handed operation via a throttle and activating lever. The log splitter also arrives pre-filled with oil.

The 2016 updated FM16D log splitter can produce up to a massive 8 tons in splitting force. It has a two-speed ram for soft or hardwood. When splitting softwood, pushing the operating lever halfway gives you the fastest speed with reduced force. When splitting hardwood, pushing the operating lever all the way down gives you the full 8 tons of force at a slower speed. The FM16 log splitter is heavy-duty in every way.  The heavy-duty nature of the log splitter allows it to complete tasks which other competitor brands of log splitters can not. An example of this is that with competitor log splitters, the ram must stop 150mm short of the blade as it does not have the heavy-duty capability to split to the end. The FM16 make it easy to split logs the entire way and removes the physical aspect of having to rip logs apart at the end of the splitting process.
