This part of the log splitter receives the greatest battering so it wasn’t a huge surprise when the original failed after 18 months of use. Thankfully a replacement was readily available direct from Forrest Master at a reasonable price.

Lovely. The man came down the drive and knocked on the door and gave me the parcel and I opened it up and put the new shock absorber on my splitter and split some wood and lovely then we all went home for tea

Product itself is fine, although it seems to wear out fast. (After just a year of use.) Order was sent promptly, but it went straight to customs because, although the European VAT was “included”, this fact was not marked on the label or on the bill of lading. So I had to go to the post office and pay the VAT again, plus a service fee. Attempts to communicate with FM service personnel were pleasant but completely ineffective: I still have no answer. Too bad this part wears out so quickly: I may have to go through this ordeal again! The splitter itself is great.
